About MBC Madeira Baptist Church was started in the summer of 1955 with the help of the Norwood Baptist Church. Cottage prayer meetings were held and three Madeira families attended the first meeting on August 28, 1955. By October fourth of that year a rented house was remodeled and services were started with Harold Sells becoming the first Pastor.Dr. Jeffrey S. Smale became the Pastor in September 2007. He brings with him two decades of pastoral experience. He and his wife have been used of God in starting twenty-seven Special Needs ministries in churches across America. Their burden for souls and love for people is evident in all they do.Madeira Baptist Church is an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church. We hold fast to the traditional services and music that our forefathers passed on to us as, "... the faith once delivered ." (Jude 3) We unashamedly stand on the King James Bible as our sole authority of doctrine.
